Today, we’re thrilled to share an unforgettable, hands-on inquiry experience that blended excitement, empathy, and global citizenship!
As part of our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Unit of Inquiry “Where We Are in Place and Time,” our students welcomed real-life community heroes—the local firefighters! With sirens blaring and lights flashing, the fire truck rolled onto campus, filling the air with awe and admiration.

It was far more than just a “cool” visit.
This powerful learning moment embodied UN Sustainable Development Goal 11: “Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.”
Through exploring life-saving gear, climbing aboard the fire engine, and watching a live fire safety demo, students didn’t just learn how homes stay safe—they began asking deeper questions:
🔹 What makes a community truly safe?
🔹 How can individuals contribute to public safety?
🔹 Why is respecting essential workers key to building resilient societies?

Firefighters aren’t just heroes in emergencies—they’re pillars of community resilience. Our students’ wide-eyed wonder turned into genuine appreciation and early awareness of civic responsibility—the heart of global citizenship education.
Learning through inquiry. Growing through real-world connections.

We believe every child can be a changemaker—for safer neighborhoods, stronger communities, and a more sustainable world.
在我们IB PYP单元《我们在时空中的位置》(Where We Are in Place and Time)的学习中,孩子们迎来了一群特别的客人——本地消防队的英雄们。
